English Name: Sugar Snap Pea
Size: At maturity the pods grow to around 4-8 cm. in length. Pods contain 3-5 peas per pod.
General Information: Sugar Snap Peas are edible-podded peas that differ from snow peas in that their pods are round as opposed to flat. Their pods are less fibrous and do not open when ripe.

Nutrition details: Sugar Snap Peas are nutritious and filling. They contain less carbohydrate and fat but have high vitamins.
Good quality signs: Good quality Sugar Snap Peas will have plump pods with firm, smooth and crisp skin. The coloring will be an even medium to dark green.

Storage Limit: 7-14 day
Recommended Dishes: They may be stir-fried or steamed, served in salads or eaten whole. However, over-cooking the pods will make them come apart, therefore, they should only be lightly steamed, or gently fried in oil or butter. Membranous string running along the top of the pod from base to tip should be removed.
